STEP Dance Theatre marks a new chapter in STEP Studio's artistic journey in 2026 — growing from the hearts and bodies of our very own STEP FAM.

Led by Artistic Director Stephanie Loh, STEP Dance Theatre is a contemporary dance company created to move beyond the classroom and into a deeper exploration of what dance can hold. Through repertoire, company training and the process of creating together, we explore movement as a language for storytelling, introspection and human connection.

Our first production, To Be… Without…, marked the beginning of this journey — a work born from curiosity, vulnerability and the courage to sit with what remains when we strip away what we thought we needed. Its reception affirmed our belief that there is so much more we can discover when we give ourselves the space to simply feel, question and move.

As we continue to grow, STEP Dance Theatre hopes to create work that invites audiences into that same space — a space of curiosity, possibility and meaning, where movement speaks beyond words and every body has a story to tell.

This is only the beginning.
