Matilda Mag

With 20 years of dance training in a variety of styles such as Ballet, Chinese Dance, Contemporary and Street Dance, Matilda has entered her 5th year of being a professional choreographer and dance educator.

Her versatility shines through on stage be it as a performer, or through the pieces she creates. Since 2018 till present, Matilda has been under the mentorship of award-winning director, Step, and has represented Singapore in international dance competitions in countries like Malaysia, Japan, Vietnam, USA and Germany.

During her university days, she was Artistic Director for the NUS Kent Ridge Hall Dance Production 2023, which was the only hall event nominated for Best Production under the Tan Ean Kiam Arts Awards in NUS that year. Another commendable achievement was during her A’Level year in Hwa Chong Institution, she represented STEP Studio to emerge as the first youth team from Singapore to clinch 2nd place at the World Of Dance Regionals in Indonesia, which led her to compete at the Championship Finals at Los Angeles, USA that same year. She has since then continued to excel as a student athlete, winning awards in both realms of law and dance.

Matilda is currently preparing her schools for the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) 2027 — She is second instructor for Modern Dance CCAS at Raffles Institution, Nanyang Girls High School, and Woodgrove Secondary School.
